Q. How much does it cost?
Q. Did pricing change?
A. Our pricing did recently change. We haven't changed our pricing in almost 4 years and needed to tweek things to help cover our mobile costs. Our intent is to still ensure we can be affordable and bring a great party to you. New options are being added to add on to the excitement and we hope that Battlefield Houston stays your choice for outdoor laser tag!
Q. What are the rules for the deposit?
A. Deposit is non-refundable. If you provide at least 14 days notice you may apply your deposit to any available date or time within the next two months. Any party cancelled with less than 14 days will forfeit their deposit. We will work with you on rain delays and do not count that as a cancellation.
Q. How much space do I need?
A. My general answer is approximately the size of a tennis court, but there are a lot of factors that come into play. If you have a large group (greater than 12 people), you would want to increase the size of the field from this default. Also, if you have minimal walls or obsticles to hide behind in a close area, you would want to have a larger area.
But here is the good news. We have made battlefields work in so many different size homes and neighborhoods. If you have gates on both sides of your back yard, we can play front yard versus back yard. This greatly reduces the space requirements. You can join with your neighbors and play across multiple front yards. In cul-de-sacs, we can play across the common area and front yards. A lot of neighborhoods have common areas or parks that are open to its residence to have events like ours. Also, there are a number of great parks in the Houston area that are perfect for our game. We have worked with both the city and county park services in Houston and surrounding towns. They are very accommondating and we meet all of their requirements to have events in our local parks.
Whether you live in an apartment or a 500 acre spread, we can provide laser tag to you. Looking to save money? Combine parties with other parents and share the costs! Some parents do that with us and we always treat our birthday persons special. We can split the payments at the event for your convienence.
A. We are a mobile system and do not have a set battlefield. We are based out of Houston, TX at our indoor location (11755 W. Little York, Ste 202), but set up a battlefield in a location of your choosing. This can be at your home or business, local park, youth group camp, or many other locations. We have set up in many areas around Houston and have probably had a battle somewhere near you.
Q. When do you arrive?
A. Depending on the type of event you reserve, we will be there 30 minutes to 1 hour before the planned start time. For our base event and smaller setups, 30 minutes is all we need. If we run into traffic or other delays, our Event Manager will call you with an update. Please ensure your contact information is correct for the day of the event. Houston traffic isn't perfect, but we strive to be on time. If we are late, we will add that time to the end of the event.
Q. How do Summer Camps Work
A.During our Summer Camp season, we will come to your Summer Camp and run events for 2, 4 or 8 hour. In previous years, we have held summer camp events all over Texas and hope that your summer camp will invite us out as well.
Q. Is this paintball?
A. This is definitely not paintball. You aren't going to feel the sting from the Battlefield Houston guns. We provide an outdoor experience that is very similar to paintball but without any projectiles. Our equipment is very rugged and has the weight of real combat equipment. A smile will come across your face when you shoot that weapon for the first time.
Q. I live outside the Houston area, will you drive to me?
A. Yes, but we do charge a mileage charge outside our standard Houston area. For the most accurate quote on mileage, you can give us a call. Our online booking slots are set up assuming that you are in the Houston area so please give us a call before booking online. This ensures that we have enough time in between events to get to our next location.
Q. Does Battlefield Houston drop off the equipment and I run the party?
A. No, Battlefield Houston brings the equipment and the personnel to run the game. Depending on the setup, we can take 30 minutes to 1 hour to setup before the event. Our team commanders will train the new recruits to use the equipment and the rules of the many games that we can play. The commanders will direct the teams through the games and help motivate the teams. Your job is to have fun.
Q. So many choices on Battlefield Inflatables, how do I decide?
A. Our base package includes very few inflatables and relies on you to already have a lot of landscaping / trees in your choice of battlefields. This ensures you can keep your costs low if you have wooded lots or a lot of existing landscaping. These are targeted at locations with multiple trees or other good objects that the new recruits can already hide behind. This is also a good option for those younger participants who really just want to get out there and shoot.
The Battlefield inflatables options bring a new dimension to the game. These inflatables allow us to create rooms and walls throughout the battlefield. We have used these larger inflatables even in wooded areas to create multiple bases throughout the battleground. Images of these inflatables are available throughout our website and resemble stone or brick walls. The full package includes both our low 4.5' walls and our 8' walls. Our low-wall package has the 4.5' walls only.
I recommend the low-walls for the late tween and early teen group. Those younger can easily get by with crate and barrels. For older groups, consider the low-walls or full wall package. All of our group packages include the full wall package by default.
Q. Does my kid really need to be 8 years or older to play?
A. YES. While some of the guests could be 7 (which is normal for an eight year old birthday party), we do not go younger than 7, no exceptions. We HIGHLY recommend you wait until a large majority of the kids are 8 and above. The games we play are complicated and the guns are heavy. Younger can have problems understanding the games or carrying the equipment. We know that some parents believe they have a "strong" 6 year old, but it just isn't a good idea to play the game at that age. Through experience, the under 8 crowd gets very disinterested after a couple of games. The guns are heavy and it becomes work for them to play the game. The on-site event manager is the only one that can make an exception. There is an additional cost for each player added to the game(s) regardless of how long they may play.
Q. I need teambuilding! My office is constantly snapping at each other and we need some release. What do you do for teambuilding?
A. Battlefield Houston is a TEAM sport. We don't talk about individual scores and single accomplishments. Teams are given objectives and they must work together to accomplish those objectives. We can even cater to areas that your office might need work. Sometimes communication is a big issue within teams. I know you might not believe me, but it happens. With large battlefields, we can create scenarios that requires the team to work together, create a plan and communicate as the battle changes. Sometimes just the simple act of getting out there and playing the game is all the steam release that is needed.
Q. I made a deposit, what happens if it rains?
A. We will work with you on a replacement date for the event. Our equipment can handle light rain/mist, but usually our soldiers like to stay dry. There is usually a 2 - 3 day warning when weather is looking bad. If you start to have concerns, get in touch with us and we can work to come up with the solution. Typical Houston weather, rain moves in and out quickly.
Q. Can we play indoors? We have a gym at our Church/School.
A. Battlefield Houston has done several indoor events for youth groups. Such events require the larger inflatables to create an indoor battlefield, but a basketball court is easily a large enough area to have a good battle. We have done overnight lock-ins with school and church youth groups. Playing this game in a dimly lit gym is an amazing experience. Capture the Flag is absolutely amazing.
Q. We have played at one of your parties and a couple of my friends would like to play. Are you set up somewhere that we can come join?
