The Hype Behind Mission-based Games

From the days of cops and robbers to the the dawn of video games, mission-based games have led the pack in popularity. What makes these games so addicting to fans?

The Mission Itself

In a world often fueled by instant gratification, mission-based games allow players to slow down and work towards a goal rather than perform repetitive actions or boring, similar levels. Video games like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto changed the way people play. These games offer various missions with different terrain, vehicles, and goals. Laser tag and paintball offer a real-world version of these games and missions.

Weapons, Battles, Vehicles, etc.

Almost all mission-based games allow players to use real world items like weapons or vehicles that they probably wouldn’t ever use in their day to day life. Simulation has intrigued players of all kinds since its inception. Being able to pilot a helicopter or shoot an automatic gun gives the players a chance to experience something they would never be able to in real life.

Accomplishment

For mission-based games, whether it be video games or arena games, one aspect remains the same: the feeling of accomplishment. These games can be long and involved, forcing the players to work hard and smart towards their win. Increasing technology has changed controllers, weapons, surroundings, etc. for these games, making them more advanced than ever. Often, players have to pay attention to a number of things at once, including teammates, enemies, surroundings, and themselves. After a long hard battle, every player can come out feeling as though they accomplished a great feat.

Has Technology Changed the Way Children Play?

The changes technology continues to bring to society are not hard to miss. Everywhere you go children and adults alike are carrying smartphones, iPads, and other devices to keep them constantly connected. The problem is technology is moving at such a high rate that there is no way to tell what these changes might mean for future generations. One thing is certain, technology is shaping the way our children and teens play, think, and experience life. Should you be concerned?

The short answer is yes. Inactivity has drastically increased, particularly for young children. Though there are factors outside of technology that have contributed to this, the fact remains that kids are more opt to be holding a tablet than playing a sport, especially as they become teenagers. Society has certainly changed, and for most parents, allowing their children to have the run of the neighborhood is no longer safe. Technology is a convenient way to distract children and offer a play option, but that means more and more kids are getting less and less exercise.

We hope to offer a safe, involved option for kids, teens, and adults alike to get out of the house, off their smartphones, and into real world situations. Our missions take brains, brawns, and teamwork, offering a lot more than a fun alternative to video games. Technology allows children today to skim, scan, and spend hours distracted by a number of videos, games, ads, etc. Their lack of focus on one goal could be detrimental to the way they process information. We use technology to build equipment, props, and missions that require critical thinking, attention, and teamwork. We hope to be one solution to this growing problem.

A New Meaning to Active Duty

We often hear about studies concerning America’s obesity epidemic and its dangers, but new studies are showing that being obese may not be the biggest risk when it comes to health. In fact, some obese people may be in even better health than thin people based on one very important factor: being active.

Each and every person, large or small, needs to be active in some way every day to stay healthy. Imagine if you could step away from your favorite video game and into a realistic version of it. You can! Our mission based laser tag is one of the most realistic versions of the game available. Our missions are very similar to those you would experience playing Call of Duty and other tactical video games. You can have the best of both worlds, playing your favorite game while being an active part of it! We want to encourage people to get active and stay active while still enjoying the things they love.

We want you to be in the best shape you can be.  Any type of physical activity is better than none at all, but when that activity is fun, you don’t even recognize it as exercise!  If you find yourself immersed in a video game while sitting on the couch or surfing the 200 channels with nothing on, you might need to try our style of gaming just to realize how fun being active can really be.

The Importance of Simulation Technology and Tactical Training in the Real World

Technology today spans across huge horizons, from smartphones and tablets to weapons and aircrafts. The use of these technologies has begun to overlap the plains of serious and fun, creating a world where the same technology used to text a friend could end up one day saving your life.

The newest technology and innovation used on the battlefield and within law enforcement is surprisingly similar to today’s laser tag games. These games are mission-based, much like the Call of Duty video game, or more importantly, like real-life military tactical scenarios. The significance of this technology is unparalleled when it comes to the safety and training of our armed forces. Simulated weapons and missions, tactical battlefield arenas, and invaluable field experience come from this innovative technology; the same technology that once began as a glowing game of tag inspired by Star Wars. Today, it is what keeps us safe from our enemies.

The tactical training that comes from simulations is repetitive and enduring, allowing military forces to “practice” the art of war. The scenarios are real, the missions are tough, but the threat of harm to each other is eliminated by using simulated guns and bombs. There is no other technology like it that can provide the training needed to work together as a team in warfare situations.

So the next time you are on the battlefield with your friends, remember to take it a little more seriously, and perhaps you will gain some real-life, invaluable skills for the future.
